Trieu Quan used to be a soldier in Military Region 1. When he was a private, he often stole petty items and then deserted. In 2012, the murder of a coffee shop owner in Long Bien district (Hanoi) to rob property. In 2013, the Military Court of Military Region 1 sentenced him to life imprisonment for the crimes of Murder, Robbery and Desertion.

At the end of 2015, when serving a sentence in Quang Ngai, Su escaped from prison. After being arrested, in 2016, Su was sentenced to 3 years in prison for escaping from prison and 3 years in prison for Theft of property. The total prison sentence is life in prison.

On the afternoon of June 3, 2020, while serving a prison sentence at the Military Detention Center in the Central Region, Military Region 5 stationed in Quang Ngai, Trieu Quan climbed over the watchtower, clinging to the water pipe to the ground, and escaped. . After 15 days of hiding, Su was arrested while at an electronic shop in Tam Ky city, Quang Nam province.
